What It Is

Royal Match is a match 3 puzzle game with a castle decoration story attached to it. You swap colored pieces on a board to line up matches and clear the level. Completing levels earns rewards that you use to improve the castle of King Robert.

Gameplay Basics

Each level gives you a board filled with colored pieces and a goal to reach. You swap neighboring pieces so that three or more of the same color line up and disappear. The game contains thousands of levels and the difficulty changes as you move forward. New players can start with simple boards while experienced match 3 fans will find tougher ones later.

Boosters and Obstacles

Boosters can be unlocked during play and used to clear a difficult part of the board. Levels also contain obstacles such as boxes, birds, potions, cupboards and magic hats. Planning around these obstacles is a large part of the challenge. Bonus levels let you collect extra coins and special items.

Decorating the Castle

Coins earned from levels are used to unlock new areas of King Robert’s castle. The rooms include the royal chamber, the kitchen, the garden and the garage, along with others. You can decorate each area as you progress, which gives the puzzles a visible reward beyond the score.

Events and Competition

The game runs events such as King’s Cup, Sky Race, Team Battle and Lightning Rush where you compete with other players for rewards. Chests can also be opened for a chance to receive coins, boosters, lives and power ups. Friends can be challenged and compared on leaderboards.

Things Worth Knowing

The publisher states that the game is free of ads and that levels can be played without an internet connection. Online events naturally need a connection. Each new episode adds fresh levels, areas and tasks.
